Crack SealerWhen it comes time to save your roads by filling cracks, the Spaulding Crack Sealer is a machine that makes this chore fast and efficient. The Spaulding Crack Sealer comes in two sizes, 125 and 225 gallon, and can melt down any road grade rubber sealant for crack sealing on the market. The machine is Oil Jacketed and designed in a way to melt down materials to the materials specification. The Oil Jacketed drum heats up evenly, making for a evenly heated area so there are no "hot spots" in the drum burning properties from the material. This oil-jacketed system is fully insulated, and is designed to keep material at correct temperatures for long periods of time. Material is injected into cracks at around 390 degrees for a perfect injection.

It comes with a heavy duty pump in a heated cabinet, designed to keep material hot while pumping at all times. The plumbing is set to recirculate material during melt down for faster melt down times of material, so you're laying down sealant faster. The drum has a high powered hydraulic agitator for agitation of material. The hose is a fully insulated 110V heated hose designed to keep rubber hot so no plugging occurs. Every area of heating comes with a digital controller for temperature readout, material, oil, and hose.

An array of safety and performance options can be included on a Spaulding Crack Sealer. Overnight heat elements can be directly set into the oil drum for faster start up times, so your crew is getting to work faster. Sewer Information Software

IBAK IKISThe IKIS sewer information system provides support for network operators and service providers in their oversight of sewerage systems. The software is specialised in sewer operations and provides current information at all times on the state of the sewer network on the basis of sewer inspections, cleaning operations and assessments that have already been completed.

The basic functions of IKIS include data settings for TV inspections, cleaning and renovation tasks, reading, saving and evaluating operational data, photos, films and documents, documentation of work completed and graphic display of the position and condition of the sewerage network.

The sewer database offers easy access to all saved data and comes ready equipped with an easy-to-read sewer network graphic, which shows sewer objects with the aid of background plans and aerial views on the basis of vector and grid files. All the detailed data belonging to a sewer object can be viewed on the graphical user interface with a few simple mouse clicks, and can then be edited where required.

Easily understood statistics and reports document the current status of the individual sewer objects and support the user when evaluating, monitoring and checking the whole sewer network. For analyses affecting multiple sewer networks, IKIS produces a data transfer file for geo-information systems. IKIS can be installed either locally using a single workstation license on a desktop PC or on a multiple-workstation client-server environment. Its network architecture facilitates access from several workstations at a time. Each IKIS workstation can be adjusted to suit its individual operational requirements. Data are managed within a high-performance SQL Server system. Thus IKIS can be used as a video server, for example.

Viewing and managing data is very easy using IKIS. A topic-related network graphic is created on the basis of request filters with very freely configurable settings; for example, sections according to material, year of construction, defect classes or need for renovation. Geo-referenced DXF, TIF or JPG maps can be used for background plans and aerial views.

By clicking on the sewer object you need in the network graphic, you can directly access the relevant inspection photos and films (in MPEG or PANORAMO format), metrics, such as tilt and data entry dialogs for detailed base and inspection data on the sewer. Additional documents, such as PDFs or JPG images, can be easily assigned to the relevant sewer object using drag and drop.

In order to ascertain inspection requirements, a request for the next inspection interval is initiated and the channel objects are displayed in the IKIS network graphical display. Then selected objects (sections, laterals, manholes) are exported along with all data required for inspection (master data, background plans, aerial views, etc.) and passed to the inspector. The data export function informs IKIS when and if a data export has taken place.

If the task has been completed, the newly created inspection data are assigned and archived automatically in IKIS with the help of the Import Wizard. This closed data cycle guarantees that IKIS provides consistently high-quality data.

Coding and reference tables (e.g. ISYBAU XML) are set out precisely by IKIS. Thus master data such as section numbers or materials no longer have to be entered manually for TV inspections. The whole work process is thus faster, and possible sources of error are eliminated at an early stage.

IKAS CleanerNo more paper document processing on the sewer cleaning truck. With IKAS Cleaner software object lists and printed maps are a thing of the past.

A work order consists of just the sewer data and the cadastral plan, which can be acquired electronically from the sewer information system. After the cleaning is finished, the operational data collected during the flushing procedure can be digitally transferred to the sewer data management system. In this way, a paperless flow of data is established between the cleaner and the information system.

IKAS Cleaner is simple to use and can be run on a notebook or touch book in the vehicle. For a flushing and cleaning contract, the sewer master data with geographical coordinates can be read in and displayed on the monitor, together with the graphical cadastral map. The operator selects the predetermined sections, manholes and laterals and adds the operational data such as flushing pressure, water quantity, etc. In this way IKAS Cleaner is completed without any text input. All of the data is acquired using a mouse or touchscreen for checkboxes or to select items from drop-down menus. The time taken for the acquisition is no longer than that required for filling out paper lists. The progress of the work can be seen directly on the sewer network design.

Sewer Line Inspection

Professional Vehicle Assembly SystemThe complete system consisting of the 500m winch KW505, T76 and Argus 5 is designed for the inspection of larger pipe diameters.

It offers revolutionary camera technology with the ROTAX panning mechanism, whereby the camera picture always stays right-side up and correctly oriented, even when the camera head is panned, tilted or rotated. The orientation in the pipe is considerably facilitated. This system can be controlled, for example by means of a BE7. Adding an Orion 2.9 with T66 would make sense in order zu cover smaller pipe dimensions.

IBAK Nano CameraThe IBAK NANO Camera that was presented for the first in the spring of 2015 is the smallest pan/rotate camera in the IBAK portfolio and is therefore, so to speak, the smaller sister to ORION and POLARIS. It can be operated in pipes with diameters as small as 80 mm upwards.

Any desired viewing direction is reached most rapidly under microprocessor control by the pan/rotate head. The NANO can rotate endlessly around its own axis. The pan function permits a view in all directions, automatic rotation to inspect pipe joints and a view to the rear into laterals. The NANO generates an erect image in axial direction thanks to the UPC function (upright picture control).

With its slim diameter of 47 mm, the camera can be operated with all IBAK push rod systems, camera tractors and LISY systems and has full bend-passing capability. It can be ordered as of now as a single camera head or in combination with a MiniLite push rod system from IBAK and all branch offices and partners.

More Specs »

IBAK Orion CameraThe IBAK ORION is the all-rounder when it comes to the inspection of pipes of DN 100 and up.

Every required viewing range is reached rapidly by the microprocessor controlled pan and tilt head. ORION 2.9 can rotate endlessly around its own axis. By means of the pan function it is possible to view in all directions and even to view "backwards" into the branch when automatically panning to inspect pipe joints. The ORION 2.9 provides in the axial view an upright image thanks to its UPC function (Upright Picture Control). With its small diameter of 60 mm, the camera can be connected to all IBAK camera tractors and has also full bend capability when operated as push camera.

The system is protected by an internal operating pressure of 1 bar and internal pressure monitoring – in case of a pressure drop the inspector receives a warning signal on the LCD display and a warning tone in the control unit. If the customer requires, IBAK can also deliver the ORION models with increased pressure resistance.

The latest camera model, the IBAK ORION 2.9, provides a large angle of aperture, excellent light sensitivity and 3x zoom. Furthermore, its focus depth is remarkable. Due to its enhanced features, the camera is also ideally suited for the inspection of larger pipes. Inspections up to DN 600 can be carried out without the need for additional lights with the ORION 2.9.

Depending on the field of application, the IBAK ORION 2.9 is available with or without explosion protection. Using the integrated location transwithter, the camera’s position can be determined at any time. The in-built laser (2.7) in combination with the IKAS software allows you to make easy diameter and deformation measurements while inspecting the sewer pipe.

The housing made of aircraft aluminium offers resistance to high pressures and a very light weight. These combined qualities allow long travel distances in push operation, and provide maximum camera robustness at the same time. High-strength materials, which are required for the explosion resistance impact test, are used in explosion- safe and non-explosion-safe cameras.

IBAK Orion L CameraIn heavily branched networks, a special version of the IBAK ORION pan and tilt camera is used: the IBAK ORION L.

Its guide unit, the "Kiel rod", can be panned and rotated in all directions and guides the camera smoothly into the target pipe. Its fast direction-changing function and mechanical sturdiness set the ORION L apart from other divertable camera systems for the inspection of house drains.

The ORION 2.8 L has been available since the beginning of 2012 with larger angle of aperture, a 3x digital zoom, and increased light sensitivity. The new version now also has improved image quality.

This camera, which can be deployed in DN 100 and up, has all the identifiable ORION features: full rotatability of the camera head, remote-controlled operation of the viewing direction and all functions of the lens system and internal pressure monitoring. Specially arranged LEDs provide excellent illumination of the inspection area and ensure a superb picture that shows up even the smallest defects. The ORION 2.8 L provides an upright image in the axial view thanks to its UPC function (Upright Picture Control).

The IBAK ORION L can be modularly connected to all IBAK push rods and is particularly effective in combination with the LISY 3 satellite systems. An explosion-safe model is also available. In short, it is userfriendly, robust and low-maintenance – like all IBAK cameras.

IBAK Retrus CameraThe IBAK RETRUS is a back-eye camera which can be used on almost all IBAK camera tractors.

The RETRUS allows easier and safer reversing in many situations. Problematic areas detected during forward travel, such as protruding obstructions, damage and displacements are recognised during reversing, so that the operator can react accordingly and prevent damage to the system.

Optimised synchronisation between IBAK winches and IBAK camera tractors guarantees a maximum range at constant speed and a fast automated reversing. However, there are situations where controlling the reverse procedure with a back-eye camera is recommended. For example, if a steerable tractor is in a rectangular conduit, RETRUS makes the reversing procedure for the inspector easier. The danger of a collision between camera tractor and pipe wall is avoided using the back-eye option.

RETRUS also offers invaluable advantages when it comes to reversing with a disconnected winch (with synchronisation switched off). The danger of the camera tractor running over the camera cable is minimised with the back-eye camera.

The IBAK T 66 is a versatile camera tractor for the inspection of sewers of DN 100 and up.

It can either be used as a portable inspection system or for extending an existing camera tractor system.

A variety of camera connections, wheel sets and a tractor extension kit make it possible to configure the T 66 optimally for different requirements. It is equipped with the modular IBAK camera connection so that all IBAK cameras can be operated with the T 66. Even when used with the two largest zoom cameras, ORPHEUS or ARGUS 5, it achieves good stability and traction.

IBAK T 66 Camera TractorIn narrow spaces the T 66 copes in combination with the camera connection CC1 that can be panned and folded. Because the folding connector for the camera cable can also be moved horizontally and vertically, the camera tractor can be easily inserted into any pipe of DN 100 and up, as well as through compact manholes and maintenance openings.

In larger pipes the use of an ancillary light is recommended. Even larger pipe diameters are easily mastered by the T66 if fitted with the FW 66 tractor extension kit. It is recommended to use the easily installed FW 66 for DN 300 upwards.

The T 66 contains an electronic stabilisation function (ATC = Automatic Tilt Compensation). This function provides active overturn protection, allowing the tractor to drive safely in the pipe invert. The T 66's modular design and the use of only a single tool for fitting individual components result in short set-up times for the pipe adaptations, resulting in more efficient working.

Top performance using a portable system IBAK's ORION pan and tilt camera, the KT 180/ KW 104 / KW 204 cable drum, the BP 4 or control box and the T 66 camera tractor, will provide you with a compact, high-performance, portable inspection system.

An extension to the existing tractor system The power spectrum of the existing IBAK tractor range has been enhanced by the addition of the T 66 camera tractor, which makes pipe inspections of DN 100 and up possible.

IBAK PANORAMO SI Camera SystemWith the IBAK-PANORAMO SI, the user has the distinctive advantages of PANORAMO technology also at their disposal for manhole inspection.

The result is the ability to visually assess the condition of manholes quickly and completely.

The 3D scanner uses two high-resolution digital cameras with specially designed distortion-free wide-angle lenses, which optically scan the entire interior of the manhole in a few seconds in one single vertical run. The digitally transwithted image data is immediately at the operator‘s disposal as a live picture. The condition of the manhole is then evaluated either in the office or directly on site.

Unlike a video from a conventional pan and tilt camera, which only shows the section of view saved at the time of recording, the IBAK PANORAMO SI viewer software provides a seamless inspection of the manhole. The inspector can stop at any position in the manhole, pan 360°, zoom and save snapshots.

An unfolded view of the manhole can be generated at the same time. This gives a rapid overview of the of the structure's condition and enables the user to measure objects on the manhole walls.

For further assessment of the data IBAK's IKAS sewer analysis software, the PANORAMO SI option manhole inspection, is available. With this software PANORAMO SI films are analysed easily and efficiently.

The results are inspection reports and inspection data to suit all commonly used data interfaces. The licence-free IBAK viewer software provides the customer with a complete overview.

The IBAK PANORAMO SI manhole inspection camera can be operated as an extension to IBAK PANORAMO inspection systems with a BS 5/BS 7 control unit, or as an installation kit for a vehicle (e.g. VW T5)

IBAK KW 305The IBAK KW 305, KW 310 and KW 505 are fully automatic, motordriven cable winches holding up to 600 m (KW 505 with BS 5) of camera cable.

All three are designed for the operation with IBAK camera tractors and cameras. Also IBAK LISY on T76 / T86 in combination with the LISY winches is operated with KW 305 / 310 / 505.

The IBAK camera systems PANORAMO, PANORAMO 150 and PANORAMO SI can be operated with KW 310 and KW 505 (with FO cable).

The integrated traction regulating device synchronises camera tractor and cable winch operation: the cable is coiled onto and uncoiled from the winch in accordance with the speed of the camera tractor. This intelligent regulating system prevents the camera tractor from running over the camera cable and at the same time ensures that the camera tractor reverses at a consistent speed.

The swivel boom enables exact positioning of the camera system over the manhole. The relevant camera system can then be lowered safely and accurately into the manhole with the hoist, whilst the integrated workplace light provides optimum illumination of the manhole opening.

The automatic cable guide ensures even winding of the camera cable onto the winch.

In addition, the user can take advantage of the autostop function. This stops the camera tractor automatically at pre-defined positions when it is moving in reverse direction. This is particularly useful when it is approaching the entry manhole – a further example of the great user-friendliness of IBAK inspection systems.

The picture is transwithted safely and without loss by the KW 505 and KW 305 via optical fibre. The KW 505 can also be equipped with a thinner, lighter fibre optic cable to allow the cable winch to accommodate up to 600 metres and be operated using the BS 5.

IBAK PHOBOS 1IBAK PHOBOS flushing nozzles enhance the IBAK range of products by providing the ability to inspect and clean house drains and house sewers in one single operation.

One efficient, tried-and-tested solution would be to combine the IBAK ORION L with one of the three PHOBOS flushing nozzles, which are fed by the high-pressure flushing system. These are operated on either the LISY 3 combined with an IBAK-TV and flushing vehicle. Alternatively, you can use IBAK pushrod systems connected to the flushing vehicle. The IBAK flushing nozzles can be easily secured to the camera push rod and allow inspection and cleaning in a single operation.

You can achieve a high cleaning performance and good satellite drive for the TV camera with all PHOBOS models. This is thanks to the special design of the interior of the nozzle, in particular on the PHOBOS 2 and 4, which helps to reduce flow turbulence to a minimum, thus reducing any loss in performance within the nozzle.

When combined with the flexible IBAK ORION L camera, this even allows heavily branched or very long pipes to be cleaned and inspected with ease.

The IBAK PHOBOS 4 is switchable, and depending on the requirements, the direction of the water flow can be oriented either forwards or backwards.

With the water flow oriented forwards, accumulated material can be washed away on inspection; if the flow is oriented backwards it acts as a "reverse gear", especially in a branched lateral network with branches, as the water pressure aids the camera in moving around curves when travelling backwards.

The IBAK flushing vehicle with integrated high-pressure flushing technology and IBAK flushing nozzles perwiths the inspector to work highly efficiently, as: flushing and TV inspection can be performed in a single operation and – importantly – without leaving the mainline sewer, which means that you do not need to rely on inspection openings or transfer manholes.

IBAK PHOBOS 4IBAK PHOBOS cleaning nozzles used with a pushing system offer the possibility of reaching a maximum range of action and propulsive force.

In addition, a cleaning quality is achieved which makes it possible (depending on the degree of soiling) to inspect and clean underground water pipes and connections in a single operation. For this, the already renowned ORION L camera is the effective solution combined with one of the four cleaning nozzles supplied by a high pressure cleaning device. The cleaning nozzles are used with an IBAK TV inspection and cleaning vehicle. Another option is to use IBAK equipment that can be used for pushing connected to a vehicle equipped for cleaning. The IBAK cleaning nozzles can be attached to the camera push rod in just a few steps. With each PHOBOS model, a very strong propulsion for the inspection camera is obtained as well as a good cleaning performance.

The PHOBOS 2 and PHOBOS 4 models have been designed to meet the needs for propulsion and maximum range. In combination with the ORION L directional camera, it is even possible to easily clean and inspect branch networks and long distances. The PHOBOS 4 has two activatable water jets directed towards the front. The two jets can soften the residue in front of the camera and therefore facilitate passage. In addition, during the passage, the accumulated materials are thus carried out of the pipe. The water jet also allows easy removal when operating the nozzle. The strong point of PHOBOS 1 is the cleaning of pipes. Thanks to the 5 orifices of the nozzle and a flat jet angle of 30 °, the best cleaning results are achieved with it.

The PHOBOS 3D cleaning nozzle occupies an exceptional place: unlike other cleaning nozzles, it forms a unit with the camera cable. It is connected and is used directly on the cleaning hose. Combined with the ORION camera, it facilitates the advance when going through difficult bends. Thanks to its special construction, it guarantees exact position and jerk-free movement, allowing the camera to precisely follow the path of the pipe. The PHOBOS 3D is used for the measurement of the plotting in 3 dimensions and the measurement of the hydrostatic height. IBAK cleaning vehicles with their integrated high pressure cleaning technology and IBAK nozzles allow maximum work efficiency for the inspector: cleaning and TV inspection take place in one operation,

IBAK ILP (Laser Profiler)The IBAK ILP (Laser Profiler) reliably locates and measures sewer pipe deformations.

The deformation measurement is carried out by a laser diode mounted on a pipe camera (TRITON, JUNO, ORION, ORPHEUS, ARGUS 5, PANORAMO). Depending on pipe diameter and camera type, the laser extension and support may vary.

The laser profiler mode of operation is based on a laser ring, which is projected onto the pipe wall and subsequently recorded by the connected camera. The software calculates the data received and creates a 3D model of the pipe geometry. It is also possible to generate two-dimensional illustrations and graphics.

With these graphic illustrations all requisite information regarding the diameter, ovality, deformation, corrosion, percentage of full capacity, minimum/maximum diameter as well as horizontal and vertical diameter (X and Y) in mm can be deduced.

The data collected by the whole recording can be viewed and shared using our licence-free viewer at any time.

This system provides for a high level of accuracy (tolerance ±0.5% in relation to pipe diameter). The IBAK Laser Profiler is an international measuring instrument recognised by the WRC (Water Research Council) in England and the Department of Transportation USA.

IBAK PANORAMO 4K Camera SystemIBAK designed PANORAMO® from the ground up to address the weaknesses of traditional video technology. The PANORAMO® method changes your current process into data collection in the field and data analysis back in the office. The technology enables your employees to work to their potential and avoid costly mistakes caused by inattention or stress. At the core of the PANORAMO® system are the wide angle (185º) twin digital cameras. These cameras are installed on the front and rear of the system and capture still images as they move through the pipeline. Extremely powerful Xenon strobes illuminate up to 48” pipelines, and the still pictures captured by the cameras produce high-resolution digital images that do not suffer from motion blur even at the highest inspection speeds. The PANORAMO® system has very few moving parts, allowing for easier maintenance than that of traditional pan & tilt cameras.

Over the past few years, the PANORAMO® product line has been further improved on the basis of its well proven technology. The result is an even much more brilliant picture with 4K resolution. The abbreviation 4K stands for 4000 and means the approximate number of horizontal picture elements (4096 × 2160 pixels). So this means that the resolution is four times greater than full HD. To achieve such brilliance and to allow this high resolution to be displayed on the monitor and stored, the transmission path has been revolutionized. For the first time in the history of IBAK, a Gigabit Ethernet Standard is being used for the transmission of images and other data.

IBAK has very positive experience in the implementation of fiber-optic technology.  With the Gigabit Ethernet Standard, a data transmission rate of up to a billion bits (one gigabit) per second is possible. In the new PANORAMO® generation, as with most other IBAK cameras, there will be the option of integrating a 3D sensor for pipe run measurement.

IBAK PANORAMO 150 4K Camera SystemAs cities clamored for PANORAMO® data, IBAK recognized they could design a pipeline scanner that was easier to operate. The PANORAMO® 150 is that system! Capable of inspecting over 90% of the pipelines that are found in sanitary sewer systems, the PANORAMO® 150 is perfect for contractors and cities who want increased productivity and speed. Although the 150 is smaller, it is more agile than its larger brother. Not to mention, it includes zero-radius steering and Automatic Tilt Compensation (ATC) standard!

IBAK SI 4K Camera SystemNo other system captures the quality or quantity of data that PANORAMO SI 4K does. Other 3D optical manhole scanners are slow, clumsy, and unsafe. With its unique ability to capture every inch of the manhole, you will never miss an observation. Keep your employees safe, increase the productivity and accuracy of your crews and provide clear data that helps system owners make informed decisions. The PANORAMO® SI can be used as an add-on to your existing PANORAMO® system or can be used as a portable stand-alone unit. Completely self-contained system on a 4′ x 4′ skid that can easily be mounted in a cargo van, pick-up bed, or an off road ATV. The electronics are mounted in a shock-resistant military style case with a flip-up monitor and keyboard. The compatible cable reel is a fiber-optic KW 505 with 300′ of high strength cable.

IBAK KW 206The KW 206 reel was designed to be compact, powerful and easy to maintain. This design is based on decades of manufacturing expertise and real world project requirements. This drum includes an automatic level wind, powerful retrieval motor, rear tractor/winch controls and an emergency stop switch.

IBAK KW 306The KW 306 is the sibling of the KW 206 compact cable reel. Sharing the same core features, the KW 306 is larger to accommodate up to 1000′ linear feet of cable. Whether mounted in a vehicle, ATV, or trailer, this drum is a compact, economical option for most mainline inspections that are compatible with the BP1BP2, and BP100.

IBAK BP 1 ControllerThe BP1 control unit is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen display and is optimally suited to control the MicroLite Push System. Pan and tilt cameras can be controlled by the BP1.

  • Anyone can operate the LS100: with its simple ergonomic controls and all-round visibility, it's safe to drive in crowded area and doesn't require a Class A licence.
  • Swept dirt stays where it belongs in the LS100 container thanks to 8-micron dust filtration, leaving behind clean and healthy air.
  • Clean cities are crucial to healthy people and healthy economies

People work, play, walk, run, and live in the city. They use streets, footpaths, parks, squares, and car parks—and they want them to be clean and safe.

Street sweepers help keep storm drainage systems clear, improving stormwater runoff quality. Sweeping also improves air quality, removing fine dirt, sand, and ultrafine particulates from cracks and crevices in the pavement.

Debris on the road can pose a hazard in other ways, too, from nails that can cause flat tires to rocks that become dangerous projectiles when thrown by a car tire. It's better having street sweepers to clean before an accident happens.

Living in a clean environment is more than just a matter of aesthetics. It's about appreciating the city as a pleasant place to get out and enjoy a breath of fresh air—a place that encourages a healthy lifestyle for the whole family.

Urban economies rely on corporate investment, dynamic local businesses and stores, and visitor appeal. Clean cities have a clear advantage in this respect.

A clean city will attract investors, multinational branch operations, even head offices. Because dirt is not a corporate value, clean cities are places investors look for to develop their business.

Local businesses and stores focus on serving their customers, but a dirty environment is not exactly a customer incentive. One after another, stores and businesses will leave a dirty town.

Garbage is also a real turnoff for tourists and for visitors attending meetings or conferences. A bad experience is bad for repeat business—and a surefire way to drive tourists and business travelers away.

Having a compact street sweeper designed to handle every kind of paving surface in every corner of the city is surely a good investment.

VT 651The street sweeper the industry benchmarks sweeper performance by that integrates exceptional versatility with unmatched features that include a high performance fuel efficient Fan Drive System to ensure maximum performance and exclusive "ONE PASS" sweeping.

View Specifications

VT651 Represents Over 50 Years of Evolution – The V Range has established itself as Johnston’s most reliable and dependable truck mounted sweeper. The Latest V Range sweepers have been developed from over 50 years of evolution and continuous improvement to meet customer requirements. The V650 and V800 models are being replaced by the VT651 and VS651, and VT801 and VS801, which are evolutionary improvements suggested by our customers across the world.

Longer on-station time than ever, lowest-ever running costs and more than one thousand design upgrades – all powered by an evironmentally-friendly and fuel efficient engine years ahead of its time. These are just some of the ground breaking features of Johnston’s new-generation VT651 truck mounted sweeper range.

In a bold move, Johnston Sweepers has completely re-launched its V Range truck mounted sweeper line-up, entirely replacing the current models to bring to the market a product which boasts Johnston’s longest-ever on-station work time, even lower running costs and a host of new features to make sweeping more efficient, cost effective and friendly to the environment than ever before.

The new VT651 is the natural evolution of the hugely popular outgoing VT650 model, incorporating literally thousands of customer-led design upgrades as part of Johnston’s commitment to customer feedback and design excellence.

The launch of the all-new VT651 follows three years of intensive design and testing by Johnston’s engineering team, which has involved re-examining every single component of the V Range to bring the clever new sweepers to market.

Fuel Efficient JCB Power Packs
Power to the acclaimed auxiliary engine system will be supplied by a range of the cleanest and most efficient engines available, designed and built in Britain by JCB. Brand new to the Johnston range, the engines were chosen for their advanced engineering, the 55kW pack already meeting future Tier 4 final emissions legislation – the only engine able to do this in its displacement class without the complication of requiring SCR (Ad-blueTM) after-treatment systems to clean the exhaust system. The engines deliver even better fuel consumption and lower emissions than ever before, reducing operating costs and helping authorities to improve their air quality scores, whilst also lowering vibration and noise generation for greater operator comfort and less noise pollution.

Longer On-Station Work Time
One of the most immediately striking features of the new range is the increased on-station work time, made possible by larger water tanks with a 21% increase in capacity on the V651), combined with all-new improved water jets, which make a more intelligent use of the water for maximum dust suppression and water conservation.

The jets in the nozzles are now also self-unblocking so that the water system is always ready for action. This, together with an increased hopper capacity on the V501 model means fewer returns to base for re-fills and keeps the sweeper out at work for longer.

Data Capture Monitors Sweeping Operations
All this improved efficiency and economy can now be tracked by customers for themselves through Johnston’s clever CANbus control system, introduced for the first time on the truck mounted sweeper range having been well-proven on Johnston’s compact sweepers. At the heart of the system is a new 7″ color screen which displays all the operational information needed by the driver – including, for the first time, an in-cab water tank gauge – as well as the diagnostic data for safety and maintenance. The screen can be linked to up to four cameras around the sweeper for greater visibility and safety.

A really invaluable feature of the new system is its data capture facility, which allows information such as fuel consumption and hours swept data to be downloaded to a memory stick via the screen’s USB port. This real-time cost and operational information is a facility that fleet operators are finding increasingly valuable in the monitoring and management of sweeping operations and costs – and allows customers to see the evidence of Johnston’s claimed fuel savings for themselves! The controls for the CANbus system itself are now all located by the grab-rail on the door, supplying ergonomic and easily accessible operation without having to take your eyes off the road, while the old relay box has now gone to make more space inside the cab.

In-Cab Controls
In-cab controls are ergonomically positioned to provide safe and easy operation while sweeping.

A full CANbus integrated control pad allows the operator to safely adjust all the sweep options.
The CANbus system monitors sweeper performance and provides daily checks. The display incorporates as standard an audible and visual raised hopper warning, fuel gauge, engine hour meter, tachometer and a water level gauge. In addition, data can be downloaded via a USB stick, showing a range of information from fuel consumption to average sweeping times.

Throttle control of the auxiliary engine is infinitely variable ensuring optimum operational and fuel efficiency with no performance compromised. With a 1500 rev
Eco-mode built into the V Range, fuel conservation is enhanced and noise levels are reduced.

Pendant controls connected via a flexible cable allows the operator
to safely tip the body and open the rear door from either side of the cab, at the same time maintaining
a clear view of the tipping area.

  • To extend brush life, the wide-sweep brush can also be adjusted using the pendant control.
  • As standard, all Johnston V Range sweepers are fitted with a body prop which automatically engages when the hopper is raised, and has a choice of four tipping heights.
  •
The auxiliary engine and hydrostatic drive pump is accessed via a wide lightweight service ladder giving constant three-points of contact
for the user.
  • All V Range models have equipment lockers on both sides of the hopper for storage of hydrant or Aluminum Catch Basin extension tubes.
  •
All critical controls – including valves, solenoids and auxiliary equipment for pneumatic, hydraulic and water systems are contained in a purpose built locker on the right hand side
of the vehicle. The ease of access
to this equipment aids diagnostic checks and maintenance. Additionally, the V Range is also fitted with waterproof IP67 automotive electrical connectors
for enhanced reliability.
  • As standard, the V Range sweeper features a Pressadrain water purging system so that when freezing weather conditions are anticipated, water is easily and conveniently drained by operating a simple in-cab switch.
  •
Water jets in the nozzles are self-cleaning which extends the life of the components.

More Robust Sweepgear
In response to customer feedback, Johnston has also re-engineered the sweepgear of the new range, increasing the durability of parts prone to wear and introducing a common hydraulic motor across the range to simplify maintenance. A labyrinth is also now included on the bottom of the channel brush motor to prevent twine, twigs and nylon packaging material from getting wrapped around the mechanism – a simple solution to a troublesome maintenance issue. Throughout the sweeper, flexible hydraulic hoses have been replaced by steel pipes which are far more robust, minimize leaks and cool more effectively – as well as being lighter for lower running costs. Even the hoses on the water cooling system have been given a make-over with efficient new push-in fittings in place of the old-style jubilee clips.

Quiet Hopper Tipping Operation
Another customer-led design change is that the hopper can now be tipped for maintenance without the auxiliary engine running, working automatically from the pendant control in the cab. This allows the hopper to be tipped inside a workshop without the noise and emissions from the engine, for a far quieter and safer operation. These are just a few of the thousands of design enhancements incorporated into the new range from Johnston, with a significant number of the design upgrades introduced with the new range have been customer driven. We recognise that our customers are our best market research resource, and their feedback is at the heart of our design programs. Johnston’s commitment to design excellence is further reinforced with the advanced technology of the latest JCB Tier 4 compliant engine at the heart of the new sweeper range, we have taken all aspects of its design a step even further to maximise performance, payload, fuel consumption and water conservation – and to produce the most cost effective and practical city sweeper on the market.

Operational Performance
The V Range is designed to fit a wide range of chassis models to suit
specific operational requirements, confident that the Johnston V Range sweeper will provide the power and performance to complete the task.

Productivity
The V Range provides the ideal balance between performance, environmental impact and low cost of ownership, with applications to suit a full range of sweeping environments – benefits that make the Johnston V Range the sweeper of choice worldwide.

Two drive options (VT and VS) provide outstanding vacuum performance. On the VT Range, JCB and John Deere auxiliary engines combined with the Johnston mechanical step-up gear box and fluid coupling, and the Johnston hydrostatic gear box drive on the VS model, provide the best efficiency ratios in the industry.

The versatile VT Range powerpack with a range of 1200 rpm – 2000 rpm, can operate efficiently in municipal environments at a lower rpm, or for one pass heavy duty resurfacing operations, the engine provides full power to ensure a clean path is all that is left behind.

There are a choice of three sweeping configurations, left hand or right hand sweeping which provides a swept width of up to 95 inches, and simultaneous sweeping which gives a swept width of up to 142 inches.

A stainless steel water tank is integrated into the floor of the hopper body, which provides ideal weight distribution between axles, and weight transfer during sweeping. For increased productivity, an optional water recirculation system can be installed on the V651 and V801, which can double on-station time before water refilling with the added advantage of reducing dust emissions.

Dust and debris are collected by pneumatically operated vacuum nozzles and wide diameter 10 inch nozzle trunking, maximizing velocity and allowing larger debris to pass easily into the hopper.

Debris is sucked in a direct route from the vacuum nozzle into the hopper, reducing wear and tear as well as maintenance. Once in the hopper, the Johnston cyclonic airflow helps separate the debris, and clean air is then released
into the atmosphere.

Johnston VT/VS Range comes with a choice of hopper options:
Johnston’s V651 has a hopper volume of 8.5 yd³ and water tank capacity of 415 gallon. The V651 is compatible with GVWR 33,000 lb chassis.

A Johnston VT801 truck mounted sweeper comes with a high powered engine as standard and a hopper volume of 10.5 yd³. The water tank capacity is increased to 534 gallon and is well matched to a GVWR 35,000 lb chassis.

All Johnston V Range models are built with an angled hopper floor, enabling a total discharge angle of 53-56º (model dependent) to aid load discharge.

Environmental Impact
Manufactured in a factory accredited to
IS0 14001 for sustainability, Johnston is committed to providing the most environ-mentally sustainable equipment on the market for collecting all types of debris and litter.

Low fuel consumption is a key attribute in reducing carbon footprint and CO2 emissions. With the mechanical drive systems running at maximum efficiency, the fuel consumption of the auxiliary engine is the lowest in its class with 0.87 gallons per hour at 1200 rpm.

The VT Range is now fitted with auxiliary engines supplied by JCB and John Deere, whose engines meet the highest standards for emissions and environmental impact.

Dust emissions are controlled to the highest standards, and PM10 atomizers suppress
dust to meet EUnited PM10 Standards in Europe, and in America, SCAQMD Rule 1186.

Water recirculation not only provides extended sweeping shifts but can also save 237.7 gallons of water per day over an 8 hour shift.

The V Range sweepers are equipped with noise suppression hoods, encapsulating the auxiliary engine and fan casing. Noise at the driver’s ear is less than 75 dB(A) at maximum revs (chassis dependent), creating a safer operating environment for both driver and pedestrians. The fully variable engine can be set to lower revs for night sweeping which reduces the noise levels by 50%.

The Johnston V Range is robustly constructed from quality materials and designed to
provide years of continuous performance
and reliable service. End of life disposal is enhanced by the V Range sweeper being almost 100% recyclable.

Cost of Ownership
V Range sweepers operate at the lowest costs, with a large 50 gallon auxiliary fuel tank giving increased on-station time. In addition, maintenance costs are significantly reduced on the Johnston gearbox and fluid coupling, as no belts or high wearing components are required.

Johnston’s VT Range provides the lowest emissions and running costs. The VT and VS models operate at low fuel consumption with both the chassis and auxiliary engines using a total of 1.33 gallon/hr at low rpms. In addition, suction sweeping requires fewer component parts, thus resulting in less wear and tear and reducing maintenance costs.

Designed to last in the toughest environments, the V Range hopper is manufactured from 4003 stainless steel, shot blasted with aluminum oxide prior to the application of a strontium based primer followed by a hard wearing top coat. In addition, all grey parts such as the sweepgear, powerpack and subframe are shot blasted and electro-magnetically powder painted in a durable two part epoxy paint finish. This ensures the sweeper continues to look as good as it performs, retaining a high residual value or longer in-service life.

Additional Features

The V Range also comes with waterproof IP67 automotive electrical connectors to enhance reliability.

Advanced Hopper Design
With many years experience of sweeper hopper design coupled with scientific research, Johnston have developed a unique hopper void which creates a cyclone effect within the hopper for the most efficient filtering of dust and debris particles prior to discharge to atmosphere through filter mesh screens. This unique design is a standard feature of all Johnston V sweepers.
The rear discharge chute directs loads away from the rear of the vehicle, minimising the risk of damage to lamps and other components. The standard load de-watering system allows draining of water from the waste volume. The V Range also features a standard Pressadrain water purging system that enables the easy removal of water from the systems in freezing overnight conditions.

Water Recirculation
The V Range comes with an optional water recirculation system that recycles excess water in the body space into the suction nozzle. This conserves water, reduces dust emissions and extends on-station time. The V Range is also the first European-manufactured machine to achieve full PM10 test compliance in stringent air quality tests on whole vehicle emissions. There is even an option of a high power auxiliary engine (supplied as standard on VT800) which further reduces emissions.

Power and Performance Packaged For The City
The RT655 provides cost effective, efficient road sweeping. Regenerative air circulation allows for large forward facing digger gutter brooms and a full width suction to maximize sweeping speed. Combined with ergonomic operator controls and low running costs, the RT655 provides an ideal solution to long low cambered roads and urban environments.

In addition, the RT655 is perfectly-suited for airport applications and is utilized World-wide in this capacity.

Productivity
The RT range balances performance, environmental impact and low cost of ownership very effectively. Sharing the same power train from the Johnston VT range, the RT provides excellent productivity with reduced maintenance costs.

A high power 115 hp John Deere turbo charged engine provides outstanding vacuum performance. Combined with Johnston’s mechanical step up gear box and fluid coupling, the RT range of sweepers provide the best power to fan speed ratio in the industry.

Large front facing digger brooms rotate from 0 to 100 rpm to lift dirt and debris from the curb side, controlled from the cab, the operator can adjust the speed of the brooms to suit the environment being swept. With the optional rotatilt, the operator can adjust the angle of the broom for deeper curbline cleaning.

Twin corrosion proof polyethylene water tanks carry 253 gallons of water allowing for a long on station sweeping time before refilling.

The air knife sweeping system drives dust, debris and litter into the 90° wide full width sweeping hood. An in cab controlled vacuum exhaust gate provides the operator with the ability to sweep large litter and bulky items without leaving the driving seat, while the wide diameter 14″ nozzle trunkings maximize airflow and allows for any larger items to pass easily into the hopper. All of which can be done at sweeping speeds of up to 10 miles per hour with a 140″ swept path.

Due to the hood design, the RT655 can sweep in reverse without the need to lift the sweep gear, this allows the operator to sweep over heavily soiled areas several times without the need to turn around or maneuver in the road.

The RT655 has a class leading 8.5 cubic yard hopper complete with an access doors either side.In addition, an optional 4003 stainless steel hopper option can be specified complete with anti-corrosion warranty for long term durability. A 55 degree angled hopper floor provides easy discharging of the load without the need for scrapers.

A range of options can increase productivity and provide increased performance to maximize the versatility of the RT range:

Supawash high pressure water system, provides a hand lance to enable cleaning of street fixtures and the machine itself. The high pressure jets are positioned at the front of the cab to provide a street washing option.

An optional 23 ft rear mounted litter vac provides additional flexibility to collect leaves and litter from the side or rear of the sweeper in areas where access is restricted and can be used to empty catch basins.

NIROSTA® In My Body! With a heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant NIROSTA® stainless steel body, Johnston’s V Range is robustly built for unrivalled durability. Johnston is the only sweeper manufacturer to offer as standard, “Complete Hopper Constructed of Stainless Steel” and an industry leading warranty.

Operator Environment
Inside the selected chassis, the Johnston master control module is mounted in the cab and gives easy access to all the sweeper controls and options. An optional rear view camera provides safety for pedestrians and the sweeper when backing up.

The ergonomic in cab controls incorporate an audible and visual raised hopper warning, sweeper fuel gauge, engine hour counter, tachometer and a low level water indicator as standard.

Throttle control of the auxiliary engine is infinitely variable ensuring optimum operational and fuel efficiency with no performance compromise. This can also be used to reduce noise levels for night sweeping operations.

A pendant control connected via a flexible cable allows the operator to safely tip the body and open the rear door from both inside and out of the cab. This allows the operator to ensure the rear of the vehicle is clear of pedestrian traffic and positioned in the correct areas before discharging the load. The body can be tipped with or without the engine running via an electric motor.

When tipping, the body prop engages automatically as the body is raised, and at “full tip” allows maximum access for routine maintenance. This removes the requirement for the operator to touch any part of the mechanism during the raising or lowering operation.

Cost of Ownership
The RT range of sweepers operate at the lowest costs whilst maintaining high productivity, the large 58 gallon auxiliary polyethelene fuel tank allows for increased time on the street feeding the fuel efficient engine and mechanically driven fan.

Maintenance costs are significantly reduced as no belts or high wearing components are required and due to the sweeper collecting debris through suction, fewer parts are required to lift the debris into the hopper.

Designed to last in the toughest environments, the RT range hopper is constructed of Nirosta® stainless steel, and carries a lifetime warrantyt. In addition all grey parts, such as the sweep gear, powerpack and subframe, are shot blasted, and electromagnetically powder painted in a durable two part epoxy paint finish. This ensures your sweeper continues to look as good as it performs, retaining a high resale value or longer in service life.

Quantum XLFor years, the Quantum has been the industry’s leading small-body rear loader. The Quantum features a unique lightweight design, industry best cycle time, and high compaction rating. Now that same great performance is available in 16 cubic yard and 20 cubic yard body variants with the Quantum XL.

Efficient Operation

Thanks to its unique packing mechanism, the Quantum XL is able clear the hopper in only 15 to 18 seconds. That is up to 13 seconds faster than the industry standard. While 13 seconds may seem small, it adds up quickly over the course of a day, week, month, and year. Having a more efficient packer means you spend less per account on equipment costs, wages, and fuel burn.

More Legal Payload

The Quantum XL’s super-fast speed eliminates the need for the traditionally inefficient and heavy tailgate designs found in the industry. Instead, Curbtender Inc uses a 2.5 cubic yard hopper that is capable of processing 9.5 cubic yards of material per minute.

Increased efficiency directly translates to a reduction in body weight. The 20 YD Quantum XL weighs in at only 10,650 lbs. The Quantum XL’s lightweight design combined with up to 900 pounds per cubic yard compaction provides industry leading legal payload capacity.

TitanThe Titan, made by Curbtender Inc., is a high compaction heavy duty front loader. It comes standard with 8,000 lb single piece bolt-on arms with 4.5″ hydraulic cylinders. As an option, the Titan can be equipped with Curbtender’s patented 3 Piece Lift Arm. This robust option adds strength but also improves ease of maintenance. If an arm becomes damaged and needs repair, one individual section can be quickly and easily replaced. All three sections of the arm can ship together on one pallet, resulting in a dramatic freight savings.

Cardboard Special

Haulers on cardboard or recycling routes have always struggled to maximize payload. Thanks to the Titan’s optional “cardboard package,” haulers experience a dramatic increase in total payload. Curbtender installs high performance hydraulic cylinders and other proprietary tweaks to the system to help condense cardboard material more efficiently. The result becomes vividly clear the first time you eject a “cardboard loaf” at the transfer station.

In Control

The Titan’s optional electronic controls package allows for incredibly easy operation. Just pull back the joystick and let the Titan automatically dump the container and then set it back down exactly in the spot you picked it up at. Service becomes even easier with the on-board diagnostics screen that displays every input and output of the electronic control system, and whether or not it is sending/receiving a signal.

TitaniumThe Titanium is a revolutionary new front loader design, developed for the ultimate in versatility. The base model comes equipped with patented articulated lift arms, allowing it to be mounted on a conventional truck chassis if desired.

Affordability by Design

Curbtender’s patented articulated arms allow the Titanium to be mounted on a Freightliner M2106 conventional chassis, which can cost up to $40,000 less than a cab-over-engine truck chassis. Still want a COE? The Titanium has optional single piece welded arms which allow it to be mounted on a cab-over when needed.

Light on Weight, Heavy on Tough

Designed using the concepts of a rear load body, the Titanium inherently has a durable high compaction body yet weighs less than the traditional front load body design. When mounted on an M2 chassis, the patented articulated lift arms are rated at 6,000 lbs. Meanwhile, the Titanium’s single piece lift arms used for COE configurations are rated at 8,000 lbs.

PowerPakIn 1978 the Curbtender was introduced as the Waste industry’s first commercially produced automated side loader and has maintained its status as the industry standard bearer ever since. Now called the PowerPak, the ASL features 1,000 pounds per cubic yard compaction and the legendary 2,000 pound rated “PowerArm” lifting device. A 5-Year arm structural warranty comes standard on the PowerArm and is unrivaled by any competitor.

The PowerPak continues to be on the forefront of automated waste collection thanks to reliable electronics and efficient hydraulic controls.

Air Over Hydraulic PLC

Simple yet robust, the PowerPak is available with an air-over-hydraulic system with a programmable logic controller. This 3rd generation PLC features a rugged mobile controller that can handle the severe shock and vibrations that refuse trucks experience. Many of our competitors instead use a delicate printed circuit board designed for industrial PLC systems.

Electronic Proportional Controls

Our electronic proportional controls option (EPC) is by far the most popular control system ordered by our customers. This feature-rich system allows smoother arm operation, driver customization, and on-board diagnostics. Taking a step into the digital age doesn’t require sacrificing reliability either. The PowerPak’s EPC system features a standard 5-Year warranty on operational controls.

Designed for Your Route

The PowerPak’s body features a 1,000 lbs per cubic yard compaction rating and a standard 5-year body structural warranty. Choose Full Ejection or Tip-to-Dump style according to your preference. A flat tailgate or bubble tailgate can be installed to create the ideal weight distribution for your region. HammerPakPACKING A UNIQUE PUNCH

The HammerPak is named after its patented packing mechanism which features a hammer-like packing panel. The packing panel pivots forward and backward inside a curved hopper, much like the swing of a hammer. With this design, the packer makes a “clean sweep” with every stroke and eliminates the need for a hopper clean-out door. The HammerPak is rated for 700 pounds per cubic yard compaction.

Extending Your Capability

A 12′ reach arm, called the Xtender, comes standard on the HammerPak automated side loader. This simple arm is one of the most robust extended reach arms available on the market. Some arms made by our competitors require major overhauls annually. Whereas, the Xtender arm provides more operating time before service is needed. Need even more durability? Curbtender’s famous “Power Arm” is available on the HammerPak with a lift capacity limited to 850 pounds and a 5 year structural warranty.

Designed for a Lower Cost of Ownership

The HammerPak is an inherently simple automated side loader designed with fewer moving parts and less hydraulic components. The packing mechanism is actuated by a single roof-mounted hydraulic cylinder. Using a roof-mounted pack cylinder keeps the rod and seal out of the trash zone and thereby extends its expected life. The tailgate is opened using a single, roof-mounted cylinder. This robust cylinder replaces the two body side mounted cylinders normally used to open a tailgate. One multi-stage cylinder is mounted in front of the hopper to lift the body and eject the load, similar to a dump truck. In total, the HammerPak has nearly 25% less hydraulic components than a standard automated side loader.

Leaf Vacuum

VacPakA garbage truck and a leaf collector converge to create a multi-purpose collection vehicle that every municipality can use. The VacPak is a refuse truck specifically designed for organics collection, food waste collection, yard waste collection, and rural or small-route refuse collection. The vacuum package is a bolt-on attachment that can be added or removed for seasonal collection of leaves.

Leaf Collection, With a Punch

Unlike traditional leaf collection machines, the VacPak is able to maximize the amount of leaves collected thanks to its packing mechanism. For most of the year this packing mechanism can be used to maximize trash payload. But during the fall months, its packing force helps to push the leaves into a condensed load as the vacuum pulls more leaves into the body.

Free to Wander

The VacPak’s vacuum hose boom articulates side-to-side with the use of a joystick, allowing the user to direct suction towards piles of leaves without the use of an assistant. The boom is controlled by the same rugged rotary hydraulic cylinder that Curbtender uses on its street sweeper gutter brooms.

Ready to Haul

The VacPak is a versatile manual side loading refuse truck. The body structure and compactor design is derived from the well-known TomCat side loader series manufactured by Curbtender Inc and Wayne Engineering for several decades. During the off season, the VacPak is designed to collect waste from either side and can be equipped with a variety of cart tippers or barrel lifters. The VacPak’s lightweight 18 cubic yard body has sidewalls made entirely of abrasion resistant metal to ensure years of productive service. Loads are ejected using a “full ejection” method rather than “tip-to-dump.”
